Kalari Training
Kalari is a special kind of gymnasium, where the martial art Kalari Payattu is practiced. Kalari is the special training in 'Marma', the art of knowing and activating all the 107 energy points in the human body. These vital points (called marmas) are used for correcting the body's energy flows and replenishing its resources. Kalari therefore makes the practitioner not just a warrior but a self-healer, who can also help others with his healing powers.‘A sound Mind in a sound body’. Kalari training of course enables one to attain a sound mind and a sound body. At Kalari Siddhi we offer various kinds of training to increase the stamina, strength and flexibility of your body depending on your physical nature.From Kalari Siddhi you will be perfectly trained each and every aspect of this art form and for this we have several long term and short term courses to choose according to your requirement and convenience.
The Kalari training is normally started at the age of seven, when the body is most supple, receptive and sufficiently strong, at the same time less vulnerable. However this art can be learned at any age under the guidance of a Guru. The Kalari training is mainly divided into three stages named: Meythari, Kolthari and Ankathari.
A student begins his Kalari training with Meythari
Meythari
Meythari or body excercise is the first stage in the learning of Kalari Payattu. Meythari consists graded series of physical exercises, which helps to attain agile and supple body, stamina strength and quick relexes of limbs, balance stability of foot works etc. In this student learns various types of leg stretching excercises, and some stances like Gaja Vadivu (Elephant Pose) Aswa Vadivu (Horse Pose) Simha Vadivu (Lion Pose) etc and also leaps, Jumps, Twists and some body movements unknown to other martial Arts, Forward and side way movements employed in defending and attackes. In this stage the student also learns the various techniques which can be used in bare hand fight.
Kolthari
Kolthari enables a student to learn to use the various types of wooden weapons ranges from 1.5 feet to 6 feet in length, namely Kettukari, Cheruvadi otta etc.In this Otta is a unique curved wooden weapon only sees in Kalari use to attack on the vital spots of the human body. In a human body 107 Marmas (Vital spots) if any one injured that may lead to instand death also. In this stage the student also learns the various techniques which can be used in bare hand tight.


Ankathari
The third stage of Kalari Payatt teaches a student to use the metalic weapon like Dagger, Sword, Spear, Flexible Sword etc and a combination of attacks and defends also. Flexible sword is also unique weapon used in Kalari Payattu to defend massive attacks.
Verum Kai Prayogam (Bare Hand Fight)
By getting efficient training in kalaripayattu a man will be able to withstand any type of attack with or without weapons and without weapons techniques is known as verum kai Mura . It includes various types of punches strikes and locks leaps etc and also uses some of the vital spot(marmas) to freeze the opponent.


Marma Treatment
In a martial art one may get injury at any time so our masters formed a traditional treatment system apart of Ayurveda to treat dislocation of joints, broken bones etc; and the treatment is based on the marma points (Vital spots).
Yog Chikitsa
We use xray and other medical reports for diagnosis. Once the source of problem confirmed, we start treatment based on yoga asanas with rope belt and other props. We use customized beds for treatment. Specific set of traction for specific issues are designed. We check past history , investigate the current issue and with proper treatments, we follow up the progress. Once the patient gets better then we may advice them to join our promoted therapy yoga class. Generally, we advice for 8 days of entire treatment or as adviced by our senior therapist.


General Hatha Yoga
Kalari Siddhi (Yoga) is a kind of yoga, which focuses on the correct body alignment. We use props as required to get maximum benefits of the asana. Props that are most frequently utilized are bolster, bricks, belts, ropes, benches etc. We provide regular yoga classes based on hatha yoga style. Progression will start from beginner to intermediate to advance. Here, we have 2/3 day's weekly or 8/12 days monthly session.
